There’s been a recent change with Yahoo’s webmail services. I’m sure plenty have noticed, but has it been noticed the changes basically consist of Yahoo emulating Gmail? Naturally I made sure to opt -out. I did notice a feed which begins with “Trending Now.”
On the day I noticed it, it said “Trending on Yahoo: Brawling Amputee” — which caught my eye, and I thought to myself, that’s pretty rude to consider some lame Youtube snippet and classify it as news. Essentially the same level of stupidity as if they featured this Kitten in a Hamster Ball set to the “Stuck in the Middle with You” song — a video I actually extract a lot of enjoyment from even though it is hardly worth being classified as newsworthy. Needless to say I felt compelled to check out the feed and cross check it with an actual credible news source.
Huffington Post had this article and video clip titled Amputee Soccer Players Brawl During Friendly Game In Belgium
YouTube had this English video, Soccer Match with Amputee Players Results in Brawl
While the reaction invokes laughter, I think the public needs to remember jerks who become disabled are still jerks. Additionally, a person with a disability has personality flaws just like anyone else, regardless of nationality, citizenship, or American, Spanish, or lack of limbs. I’m sorry it shocks the public.
That about wraps it up for today.
